Modern technology has resulted in a barrage of media choices.  As parents, protecting our children from harmful influences can seem like an overwhelming task.  Given the pervasiveness of the media, a passive approach is doomed to failure.  Fortunately, there are a number of resources at our disposal.  If we choose to be proactive and make this issue a high priority, we can enjoy the benefits of modern technology while maintaining a safe and family-friendly environment for our children.  This website outlines techniques, resources, and strategies for controlling media content in the home.  This information is organized according to five main categories (internet, movies, TV, music, and video games).

U.S. District Judge Richard P. Matsch rules against the movie editing industry and deals a blow to CleanFlicks. CleanFlicks appealed the ruling two days later. But the end is likely near for the movie editing industry. More details here.

The Safe Eyes filter has replaced Cybersitter as the Editor's Choice for PC Magazine. I have not tried this package personally, but I understand is an excellent filter.
